In 2021 we have seen a massive growth in folks new to cycling, and families with mixed abillities. We can provide a guide to accompany you on your ride, and take you to the best scenery, via the best trails for your group. This takes the pressure off any navigating, and we are here to help with a puncture or mechanical issue. So whether you are staying in Dunkeld and Birnam, Pitlochry, Blairgowrie, Aberfeldy or Perth, we can provide trips either local to you, or from our base here Dunkeld, Perthshire.

If Mum and Dad want to stick to the main path, we can lead or direct the kids over the rooty sections, providing tips or coaching advice as we go. Or maybe you all want to go on e bikes for the day and head up into the hills, and get away from busy urban life. Have a picnic by the Lochs, or next to the Waterfall. We can arrange that too.

These can be run as a half day or full day trip, ideal if you are up for the weekend, the week or are organising a birthday party or other activity.

If your kids are still learning to ride a bike, or would like some extra help, we can provide some tuition in a safe environment, allowing you to go for a shop, visit the cathedral or just have a quiet coffee round the corner.

If you are already a keen mtb rider, have a bit of experience under your belt, or are looking for a challenge then we can offer a variety of routes and trails around Highland Perthshire.

Guided mtb trips around beautiful Highland Perthshire are available for advanced groups. Come and check out our tracks and trails hidden in some of the most secret corners of Scotland.  Cherry pick the best bits and routes for a full-on adrenalin packed mountain biking day. There are some short hour long blasts, or full day epics and everything in between. We would recommend a 3-4 hour ride that takes in some of the local hills, climbs and descents.

There are over 20 red/black descents within a 30 minute cycle of Dunkeld, making Progression Bikes a natural base for a days biking. We would recommend a guide to take you on all the best routes, as even with an O.S map or an app, you will struggle to link up the sections. Best ridden on full suspension bikes, there are plenty of sections to test even the most competent cyclist. There are a growing number of Strava routes too for those that like some added competition in their ride, or just head out with friends and see what you find.

Progression Bikes staff are always happy to share route advice and local knowledge with anyone that comes in, so stop in for some spares, repairs and a chat

Guides, coaches and instructors are availalble to push your riding to the next level. You could be a group of Monday night riders, hitting up all your local trails but want to iron out a few bad habits before that trip to Madeira. Maybe you are trail centre regulars, but never really have the confidence to ride the natural 'stuff off the back'. Or you're just trying to keep the growing group of your son or daughters mates from hurting themselves when they go and 'shred the woods'. Whatever the requirements, we can help!

Guides are £175 for a half day and £280 for a full day. Divisible by up to 8 people. So if there are 8 of you, thats just £35 per person. For larger groups, multi day trips and other possibilities just get in touch.

One to One and Bespoke Mountain Biking Coaching

Dedicated one to one and or bespoke coaching is available on all aspects. Want us to assist somewhere else? Speak to us. We have the skills, knowledge and can travel, if required. Prices depend on bespoke requirements, available on request.

If you want to develop your skills AND ride, we have coaches for all abilities and levels. A coached ride is a great way to see the countryside but to tackle elements that you may normally ride round or push over. By stopping and practising on these sections, you develop your riding skill and confidence. It is also suitable for the whole family with a variety of  ’line choices’ on many of the routes.
